Derp a Derp!

Sooooo yeah if anyone listened to the very last Sequential Underground I mentioned I was hoping to get the next page colored well.... I didn't instead I worked on the coloring the Gello/ Star Wars mashup. My Bad! Next week I promise.

No new comic do to Job.

But in its place is a drawing I was working on before I got all hectic with deadlines and my new job. I have to color it and it will be available for something as soon as I get situated.  Enjoy!

I Bring You the Fall!

SURPRISE!!! This image here is tentatively cover and title of the next Gello Apocalypse trade, which is far from being down but sometimes  I get a urge to draw ahead, it did it for the first volume that came out this year. Hope you dig it like Smacks!

 Course I some fixes and stuff to add but over all I like. When finished I'll look at this again and make a judgement call but for me likey long time! Well I bid everyone a Happy New Years!!

Well if you haven't notice, their hasn't been a new comic in a month. Which saddens me BUT I have a excuse! If you have been following me on facebook you'll notice that I was pimping a kickstarter comic anthology I had the joy of working with my fellow friends Jared Catherine, Cynthia Lee, Virginia Shields and the fabulous Nick Marino! The anthology is called Love and Monsters.  AND WE WERE FUNDED!!! More details to come on that project.

Anyways I had to finish that comic in time, soooo the usual juggling of chores happened and this fell to the way side, which sucks when I felt I was finally getting some traction. Well good news everyone Gello is coming back next month on January 8th. I'm taking this time to catch up on pages to build up a buffer so their wont be any hang ups and start 2014 right!

the State of Gello

Hey folks! As promised I would let you know what's up with the strip and then some.
Well the comic is very much alive I have the next page inked and scanned, this summer has been busy as busy could be with some freelance gigs, a 10 day trip and getting stuff ready for SPX and the PGH Zine Fair. Also lets not forget the day job  and fatherhood.

One of the other things have kept me busy is a short comic i'm doing for a kickstarter anthology

This is Cookie from my story called the Fantastic Phantasmos, more info as it comes down the pike.

I believe I have wondered a bit, back to Gello I'm gonna begin updating next week with the next page and going forward I will try to update regularly if not with a comic probably with a drawing or an article dealing with some of the tropes I put in the comic.

Jumping the Shark!

It's finally here! Gello Apocalypse vol. 1 Jumping the Shark.

This has been the monkey on the back for the last three years. Had alot of set backs with this book. I'm so glad its a reality. Do smell that... it progress, now on to the next volume. Which f.y.i the comic will start back up soon, more details after I come back from SPX this week. If your in Maryland come out to see me, I'll have cookie (just kidding I wont have anything HA HA) I'll throw a link where and when you can buy the book (gotta fill out a form still, derp!)

 

Oops I Did It Again.

Hey gang, sorry to drop the ball again. This new job and other stuff in life is taking over, so bear with me the next couple of weeks. In the mean time, I give you this drawing to hug. Comic coming later this week.

The last couple of weeks I've be busier than a fat kid in a candy store. And today was no different I  had a appointment to keep and woke up late so I got half way done with page and had stop.

I was messing around with image for the better part of last week and thought I post it here. The inspiration is from a Robert McGinnis painting, can't get enough of that artist and the many book covers.

Sorry gang I was in Ohio visiting family for boxing day so I didn't have time to do today's strip but threat not my lovelies the comic will be back next week for the new year!

Smokin' buckeyes

I thought I'd post this here since (1) my characters smoke weed and (2) they live in Ohio it's pretty interesting how things have changed. Now mind I consider myself a social smoker ( I haven't smoked in a long while) but this is kinda neat how we (as a nation) will be ending prohibition of marijuana in a few  years.

 Next, I want to see  flying cars, the first female president (preferably not crazy like someone from Alaska)  and the humans landing on Mars and I will be set for life. 

This article is about Ohio voters split on legalizing pot and the changing attitude of legalizing it. To bad I live in Pennsylvania (and not Colorado) where we can finally buy beer on Sunday. Anyways take a read and I'll talk to you peeps later.

ONE YEAR OF POOPING ON COMICS!!

Yesterday marked the first year anniversary of the this blog that restarted the Gello mythos. I wanna thank my lovely wife for everything from editing to supporting me in every aspect of this comic. Also I wanna thank Nick Marino who gave me advise and answered every question I had even when I probably annoyed him and of course THANKS to the people who read the comic and left comments. Heres to the future I'm glad you're here!

*Update* Nothing important to add. earlier I had to do alot of things and didnt have time to do a proper blog entry. These drawings are from an idea I had about a fighting game around the Gello cast as little chi-bi characters and kicking ass.

God I would give anything to make this as a real game for people to play. to bad I'm short of funds. DAMN MY LOW INCOME/ NO INCOME! DAMN YOUS TO HELL! TO HEEELLLLLLLL!!!

LATE NIGHT ART!.... sorta

SSoooooo I was organizin' some files on my hard drive and it's 3am and stumbled over this. Now it's not that old I did it early this year for a auction for Future Tennent, a local art gallery.

The reason behind this is NASA's downsized manned program and this is my half response to that. Thats's it, not too deep a thought.

 Now go and fuckin invent some awesome space travel devise where we can go to Jupiter in nine minutes.

I'm going to bed.

Grand canyon pt two

 The Grand Canyon was HUGH. and F.Y.I this was only the south rim of the canyon. HUGH!!!
